The University of Ottawa’s Michaëlle Jean Centre for Global and Community Engagement is partnering with the English Intensive Program to offer students the opportunity to get involved in the community. We are looking for 15 volunteers to help sort food and make boxes at the Ottawa Food Bank. IMPORTANT: Students who wish to volunteer at the Ottawa Food Bank must attend the information session on Friday, March 13 from 12:00 p.m. to 12:45 p.m. at 70 Laurier East (Hamelin 145).






Date of outing: Thursday, March 19 2020

Place: Ottawa Food Bank, 1317 Michael Street, Ottawa


12:30 p.m.: Meet Nancy Thiffault (Student Services Coordinator) on the ground floor of CRX, 100 Louis-Pasteur. Departure from campus with O-Train East. Exit at stop St.Laurent. Change to bus route 40 Greenboro/Hurdman. Walk to 1317 Michael Street.


1:15 p.m.: Arrival at the Food Bank.

  • Wait for instructions

  • Start helping by unpacking, sorting and boxing donated food

3:30 p.m.: Departure

What to bring: 

-Wear comfortable clothing and shoes because we will work in a warehouse.

-Your student card.
